About the competition

The CISC Architecture Student Design Competition challenges architecture students to explore the relationship between architecture and steel structures. Students design a pavilion made entirely of steel, focusing on how the material and form interact with the environment. They consult with engineers and fabricators to understand the structural design and detailing requirements of steel construction.

Participation Information

Open to full-time students registered in a Canadian school offering an architecture program of at least 3 years. Students participate through their institutions as part of a studio or lecture-based course.
Judging is based on design creativity, structural understanding, use of steel, and the quality of architectural details and drawings.
Cash prizes, trophies, and recognition for architectural innovation

1. Form a team and register through your academic institution. 2. Design a pavilion made of steel following competition guidelines. 3. Submit the design on A1 size boards for evaluation.
Access to architectural design tools, steel fabrication industry resources, and guidance from faculty and industry professionals.
Judging is based on design creativity, structural understanding, use of steel, and the quality of architectural details and drawings.
