About the competition

The Great Communicator Debate Series encourages high school students to develop public speaking and debating skills through a series of regional and national competitions, culminating in the National Championship.

Participation Information

Students participate in regional competitions, with the top two debaters advancing to the National Championship. Debates cover current civic and social issues.

Based on communication skills, evidence-based arguments, and ability to engage in civil discourse.

$10,000 scholarship for 1st place; trophies and certificates

How to Participate

Process

1. Register for a regional competition. 2. Debate in regional rounds. 3. Winners advance to the National Championship at the Reagan Library.
