The CGCS Bernard Harris Math and Science Scholarship, sponsored by the Dr. Bernard Harris Scholarship Program in partnership with the Council of the Great City Schools, supports underrepresented high school seniors of color pursuing STEM degrees. Four scholarships of $5,000 each are awarded to two Black and two Hispanic students to help them achieve their academic and professional goals in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

- Must be a Black or Hispanic student completing senior year of high school - Must attend a school in a district that is a member of the Council of the Great City Schools - Must be accepted for full-time enrollment at a four-year college or university - Must intend to pursue a STEM degree (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics)

- Confirm your school district is a member of the Council of the Great City Schools - Complete the scholarship application (available via the Council's website) - Provide proof of college acceptance and intended STEM major - Submit all required materials by the application deadline - Wait for notification in May if selected - awards are disbursed in June
