The Charles W. Riley Scholarship Program supports active firefighters, ambulance, and rescue squad members in Maryland by providing financial assistance for pursuing degrees in fire service technology, emergency medical technology, fire service management, or public safety administration. The scholarship awards cover at least 50% of annual tuition and mandatory fees, up to the cost of a resident undergraduate at a 4-year public institution within the University System of Maryland.

- Must be actively engaged as a career or volunteer member of fire, ambulance, or rescue squads. - Should be enrolled in credited courses leading to a degree in specified fields. - Achieved a minimum of 50 LOSAP points or worked a minimum of 1,000 hours in the year prior to the award.

- Complete the scholarship application via the Maryland College Aid Processing System (MDCAPS). - Submit proof of acceptance into an eligible degree program and a notarized statement confirming active service. - Ensure all applications and required documents are submitted by May 1.
